International Service Desk opens in Maastricht.On Friday November 27 the International Service Desk Maastricht Region was officially opened with speech and song. The Desk is located at the Municipality Maastricht desk in the Mosae Forum building in Maastricht. The unmanned desk offers computers with access to four web resources specific to Maastricht region and information that international members of the community may need.
In first instance the Desk will be used as informationportal. There are screens displaying several websites with information for the international community living and working in the Maastricht region. In 2010 the municipality of Maastricht will expand the services of the Desk to all 19 municipalities in the South-Limburg area. The International Service Desk can be reached via international@maastricht.nl.
The websites displayed: www.maastricht.nl: the website of the municipality of Maastricht gives basic information in English, German and French; www.expatguideholland.com is a well organized resource aimed at international companies and expats moving to or in the southern region of the Netherlands. This site gives practical information and checklists for formalities regarding settling down in Maastricht. Brainport Development manages the website and is also involved in the further development of the International Service Desk Maastricht Region; www.liof.com is the website for foreign companies planning to establish in Limburg and needing assistance from the Limburg Development and Investment Company.
